Quirks

demand-side only - emits DeploymentRecord (capacity_added_mw), NEVER a commodity supply classification (a power plant consumes Cu/rare-earths, it does not produce them)
forward PIPELINE only (construction/pre-construction/announced); operating stock is IRENA's domain, dropped to avoid double-counting
solar rows with a TZ ID (TransitionZero) or WKSL ID (wiki-solar, proprietary) are NON-CC-BY and excluded; the combined Integrated-Power workbook lacks the Other IDs column needed to filter them, so the per-tech trackers are used
GEM does not publish solar cell chemistry - solar maps to generic ELECTRICITY_PV and is apportioned across the c-Si/CdTe/CIGS tech proxies by market share (_TECH_MIX in analyses/demand_seam.py), so copper (REMPD c-Si system total), silicon, silver and tellurium are all claimed share-weighted

Cache-only; operator drops both vendored XLSX into data/raw/gem_power/<vintage>/
